05 October 2018 – The ABC Motsepe League continues this coming weekend with eight exciting fixtures in the Eastern Cape stream.
The action begins on Friday evening when mid-table Sibanye FC play host to bottom placed Birmingham City FC at Adcock Stadium with kick-off at 19h00. The home team will be searching for their first victory of the season after three consecutive draws while City will be desperate to earn their first point.
Saturday’s first of seven mouth-watering fixtures gets underway when Amavarara take on Bush Bucks A FC in a 3pm kick-off. The hosts have a 100% record with two wins thus far while Bucks have the worst goal difference (-2) and will be looking to tighten up at the back.
Fourth place SUBS then travel to a win-less Highbury FC in Summerstrand with both teams looking to accrue points for different reasons, while Matta Milan will entertain Bizana Pondo Chiefs at Ngumbela Stadium in Butterworth. Chiefs are the other team with a 100% record thus far and will be looking to climb into that coveted top spot on the table.
Yaka United FC are then at home against Future Tigers FC in a fixture that could go either way. Both teams have been extremely tight at the back and this match will be no different. This game also takes place at 3pm, at Mt. Ayliff Stadium.
The action then moves to Butterworth as they play host to Peace Makers FC while The Guys FC will be hoping to make home advantage count when they come up against Mthatha Bucks at Mpeshwa Sports Fields in Bizana. Both teams are winless with a point apiece and will be going all out for the win.
The weekend concludes with 2017/2018 champions and current log leaders Tornado FC taking on PE Stars. Tornado will be hoping for a result to sustain their number one spot while Stars will be planning to spoil the party.
It’s still early days in the Eastern Cape ABC Motsepe League but the action is as intense as if we were heading towards the season finale.
