02 October 2018 – Tlouamma is celebrating the clean sheets at First Touch Academy in the Limpopo Sasol League as if they were goals.
Yet the work on the opposite end of the field has also been important to First Touch’s success, with Saturday’s 8-0 Limpopo Sasol League win over Re Tla Dira representing their eleventh clean sheet in as many games.
First Touch defender Tlouamma, who joined the team in the close season from defending champions Kanatla Ladies, said: ‘I’m trying to work hard at training, to enjoy my football.
‘The gaffer always loves it when we are keeping clean sheets, winning and also scoring goals a lot.
‘From my perspective, and for the back four and the keeper, keeping clean sheets has been a big target and we’ve been defensively solid in the Sasol League this season.
‘It’s about carrying that on now. It’s a big thing for me and it’s as satisfying for us as it is for the boys up the top scoring.’
First Touch, who are yet to drop a single point this season after 25 games thrashed relegation-threatened Re Tla Dira 8-0 on Saturday, 29 September to get eleven points away from the league title.
The win put First Touch two points clear at the top of the Limpopo Sasol League table ahead of Ma-Indies Ladies, who visit First Touch in less than two weeks for a mouth-watering top of the table clash.
